Diarize this: Conference on whistleblower retaliation, Sep 6-7 – by Jackie Garrick (Washington DC)

ree

You’re 16 hours ahead of DC – to us it’s September 7 and 8 from 9am, so from New Zealand you will have to tune in the afternoon before, at 3pm on Wednesday September 6. The podcast will also be recorded.

Why should you care? Because in 2017, IT engineer and whistleblower Geoffrey Brown was imprisoned for three weeks (after being personally bankrupted on indemnity costs) for standing up to his former employer, Tauranga City Council. We are also watching developments in the McBride and Boyle cases in Australia.

Editors note: Jackie Garrick is the President of Whistleblowers of America and co-authored a book on whistleblower retaliation in 2022: Synopsis: The Psychosocial Impacts of Whistleblower Retaliation - by J Garrick & M Buck (leightonassociates.co.nz).
